Targa Roof slow motion
My targa glass roof opens very slowly, I have changed the battery seems like it lacks power to open.
I have read previous members posts but no direct answer yet.
Anyone solve this issue or any solutions?
Thks alot

It could be any number of things but my guess is the drive cables are binding slightly. You should never try to lubricate the cables or the tracks as eventually they get full of dirt and eventually fail - that may be what's about to happen. If either you or the PO have lubricated that stuff you should do your best to try to clean it up. If all else fails you may need to replace the drive cables (the 2 for the glass anyway).

Does it open the same speed with the motor running and the motor off?

Well then a weak battery wouldn't be the issue.
I also think that the odds are against the cables themselves binding, its other stuff that is most likely to bind and that would cause the cables to have problems. The problem with lubricating the cables is that WD-40, grease, or similar causes dirt to accumulate in a kind of greasy goo on the cables and other components, I suppose it could cause a bigger hunk of debris to get carried into the track for the cable and cause binding, but the little whiskers on the cables do a good job of preventing this. More likely the goo would cause other stuff to get sticky.
Goop on the cables can help the drive gears to skip a tooth of the top is sticking a bit. It can do this also if something falls in the track. Has it made any ratcheting noise lately? If one of the cables hops a tooth on the drive gear, the glass top gets slightly misaligned and that can cause binding.

The car is still in workshop and i will have go tonite discuss as well check with my man. Fo sho no greasy stuffs nor WD40, which i read from your previous post dat will cause the problem.
I will post the update and hope is the cable binding which can narrow down the issue.

I tried the SEARCH but nowhere I saw a solution.
My Targa roof mooves slowly / sticks 3 - 5 times / year. Anyway, whether:
it happenz. So lubrication does not seem to be the issue, nor the electric power and not even the surface.
I could live with this "feature" but I'm a little bit afraid what MIGHT happen.
ANYBODY ANY IDEA?

- engine off, battery full loaded
- Engine on, idle
- surface flat
- surface hilly
- moving @ normal revs
- moving @ high reves

I have the same problem "sometimes" but it always goes away. Since it seems to go away, I'm not about to go looking for trouble. If I recall, it gets better after the car has been driven a little while.
Kinda like when I get out of bed some mornings, I don't move so fast right away, but it gets better as I get moving, too.
Good luck!

Does it speed up if you try to help it along? If so, I would think maybe a weak motor.
