Default Ok... What did you get? (for the holidays, Hanukkah or Christmas)

I got my gift early this year, at the end of October. It wasn't anything directly for my 993 but it sure has made the web experience of viewing Rennlist worlds better. I posted it back then in October when I got it, my first iMac. 27" widescreen screen vs my old crappy Viewsonic's 19" square screen.

Here's my wife showing off the early Hanukkah present at the end of October! My home office...

Here's my view of the world with the Rennlist Calendar on the wall

My other gift is that I don't have to sell my 993 anytime soon. It's safe at least... till the Spring or Summer. I told her no one buys these cars till the Spring or early summer so there's no use to try and sell it now. Reason for probably sale is what I've posted before here... I was downsized in my current company and am earning 1/3 of what I used to make. Our bank account is becoming less and less each month as we go into savings to cover our mortgage. We're trying to rent the carriage house apartment above our garage so we'll see if we get anyone to do that. There's no washer and dryer in there, nor is there a kitchen (just a fridge and a toaster oven but we're in a super desirable neighborhood with dozens of stores and restaurants that one could walk to), so it may be hard to find someone for the money we're asking... If it doesn't rent in a month or so, we'll just keep reducing it till we snag someone.

Still working on getting a high paying sales job again, though. Got another interview this Wednesday. We'll see...

Gosh I'll miss this old gal (below), but maybe we can pull a rabbit out of a hat, last minute.

So... what did ya get?

Best of luck Steve, from all of us out here. We are pulling for you buddy! Great choice with the Mac too.

I got Adrian Streather's book, The Ultimate 993 Companion. it is the bible for us 993 nuts. If you don't have one already RUN out and buy one now.

Happy holidays everyone.

Yeah, best of luck.

Congrats on the new Mac.

p.s., why is there a dinner plate in your briefcase?

Man, you guys don't miss anything! I was tidying up my desk before I took the pic, trying to remove as much clutter as possible in my OCD way, and I put the plate in my briefcase so it wasn't sitting in view on the desk. But, I didn't realize it was in view in the briefcase.

Ok, enough explaining that one. Thanks guys for the kind words. I'd love to pick up Adrian Streather's book but I can't. I can't buy anything with a 993 on it right now. I don't want a reminder of my beloved car around the house if I have to sell it this year. Not a calendar, not a book, nothing. It will make me too sad. I'm still wondering what I'll do with the beautifully framed 993 art in my garage if I sell the car. Could I bare to look at it next to my BMW? I'll figure that out later this year. I might just post it for sale on Rennlist after and if I sell my 993.

Cheers (that's a word I say to myself to remind myself that I still have a hell of a lot to be grateful for),

Absolutely nothing. Karen and I just get whatever we want during the course of the year.

But I am ready to spend a bit to take care of what the C4S needs. On the other hand, it's been highly entertaining driving the RSA around the past month. Funny how refined any 964 felt when they were new, compared to the torsion bar cars. Now it seems like it's the raw 911!

I didn't get anything for my 993 for the holidays as I've been diverting some funds towards a few goodies for my recently acquired '87 Carrera (I just buy the stuff and my wife says 'OK, that's from me' ). I bought, um, I mean got:

- A set of WEVO rear sway bar mounts
- A set of Beru plug wires
- A Coverking Stormproof cover
- The Bentley '84-'89 Carrera service manual
- Wayne Dempsey's '101 Projects for your 911' book
- A Porsche RSR dead pedal

The 993 should be back on the Christmas list next year.

P.S. Steve, here's hoping that things work out for you and you get to keep your 993. She's a beaut...

I got to drive my 944 on Christmas Eve day. Not exactly a gift for my 993, but a miracle (suitable for Christmas Eve) nonetheless. Here are some horrible iPhone pictures...
