OT: Does the company you work for (or own) shut down the Xmas Holiday?
#18
We stay open although there is not much going on. Not many folks in the office and most of our clients are off, so it tends to be very quiet. The office is closed on 12/24, 12/25 and 1/1 which are paid holidays

I still work "loosely" during those days. Im in sales and its end of the year with a few deals taking place on or before 12/31.
I work from home and can work from anywhere for the most part.

Its paid time off....which is nice.
We get 4 weeks of vacation next year---I took 7 days off this year and 6 of them where in Europe and 14 days I rolled over this year. I need to start taking more time off because they encourage it. I dont recall in quite a few years I have used up all my vacation in 1 year. I foresee a C4 993 roadtrip this year---solo for a week---destination unknown at this point.
God bless the European culture---we are still LifeSize Communications but a Logitech Company.

Today is the last day in the office for ~ three weeks. The office is staffed but I'm on comp time and vacation. The business (spare parts for USAF) hasn't slowed down for about 10 years. I'll be keeping up via webmail and bberry.

This is time of year is one of the perks of being in the Army.
We get two four day weekends (24, 25, 26, 27 Dec) and (31, 01, 02, 03 Jan).
If a Soldier works through the Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday prior to those weekends they are only half days.
Personally my wife and I are taking the 28-30 as leave days, so we take three days of leave to get 11 days off.

We never close, as I work for the cable company (teflon flamesuit on - yes, I know, you hate your cable company...)
But, they give us off in sales, the 25th, and 1st, off of course. Since I've been there 22 years I get 6 weeks and 2 days off so I'm taking off every Friday these past two months, some Thursdays and some Wednesdays. Makes for a stress free last 2 months of the year for me.
Because we got the 23" of snow, I can't/won't drive my 993 for at least another 3 weeks till this snow melts and all the salt is mostly off the road. I hope it starts, and no, I don't have a trickle charger, just a lot of prayer. I guess I could always start it up every other week for so for 15 minutes. I never did that before. Probably be a good idea for a guy that's too stubborn to buy a trickle charger.
My holiday just passed, Hanukkah.
Have a happy holiday folks.

I've always been self-employed, so I stop working when it starts to get slow around the holidays, and I start working when things pick up again. Usually means about a month off from around December 15-January 15.

When you come over to change those valve cover gaskets we'll talk about a road trip I plan to take as soon as the passes clear. Loop through ID, MT, WY all on two lane roads ... local pubs, local eateries, locally owned hotels. I grew up in MT so I know some good spots.

It wont be tonight for those gaskets!! I have a 330am wake up for a 545am flight--going back to South Dakota until Sunday.
Happy Holidays!!
