Default OT: Does the company you work for (or own) shut down the Xmas Holiday?

The company I work for, LifeSize Communications, was aquired by Logitech International and the deal closed last week for $405 million in cash. Its a very good thing (Im smiling) and they adopt the same policies LifeSize did during the Christmas holiday.

Excuse me, I mean HOLIDAY SEASON to be politcally correct since we are a public traded company now.

We are offically closed from Dec. 24th to Jan. 4th--2010.

Spending time with family in South Dakota and getting my 4 year old out on the slopes for lessons in the my back yard.

Happy Holidays!!

Closed the 24th and 25th paid.....I wish we had all the rest off but I'm not complaining. Our company (Stoner) is doing well and they treat us great.

Its paid time off....which is nice.

We get 4 weeks of vacation next year---I took 7 days off this year and 6 of them where in Europe and 14 days I rolled over this year. I need to start taking more time off because they encourage it. I dont recall in quite a few years I have used up all my vacation in 1 year. I foresee a C4 993 roadtrip this year---solo for a week---destination unknown at this point.

God bless the European culture---we are still LifeSize Communications but a Logitech Company.

24th-the 4th here -- unpaid. However, we can use our vacation time.

One of my businesses is 24/7, so guess what! But I turned it over to a manager in 2000, so I'm only on the hook if all hell were to break loose.

I'm self employed, and I usually shut down between the 24th and the 2nd. My paralegal, whose been with me about 33 years, takes off about 6 weeks.

I don't complain.

I'm jealous.

We get two weeks of vacation til ten years with the company. Company closed on Xmas, Thanksgiving and Easter, open every other day of the year.

Now if we opened up stores in Europe...

Dave - I'm right with you there.
Closed the 25th... I'm not going in on the 24th, as I think I would be the only one there...

Isn't it funny how the people that protest the "Christmas Holiday" do not protest the days off and do not volunteer to keep the companies running

My "day job" shuts down for the most part. Some time paid, some vacation.

The other job (FDM) is taking up all of that free time but it's more fun

Nope. We seem to get busier. We're open 24/7 365 days a year. Job security!
