I bought the "Made in Italy" versions from Wheel Dynamics a few years ago. Almost identical but not exact in appearance and a few pounds heavier per wheel. The stock MY02s are ~21lbs front and ~23lbs rear. Many will say to watch out for "made in China" versions or ANY replica. If you're going to track the car I'd agree. The stresses on a wheel are massive.

Here's a couple pics of the replicas, first pic on the 95, second when they were on the black 97 (like yours).

I have a set of the made in Italy version from Wheel Dynamics as well. I think they are fine for the street. Here's the weights they provided to me 23lbs front 28lbs rear, I have not verified on a scale.

Real one are about 19 and 21 lbs. If they are strictly for street, I wouldn't worry about the weight.

If you are patient, deals will occasionally come up here, ebay and craigslist. I waited for about a year, and got a set of real ones for $800 and my Cup IIs.

What makes the reps so heavy? They are both cast correct?

How sure are you on the weight? Did you weight them?

They add lead for softness. It's a good thing, believe me!

going by a previous post. see below, not sure who posted them, maybe from Steve Timmins? weights in Kgs. No, I have never actually weight them, but when I changed them, Cup IIs to MY02s, they are both very light, and comparable weights.

So are you saying that these, Italian Made wheels, from Wheel Dynamics are ok for track use. They look great and seem much more affordable. If not ok for track, I could use them on street and use my twists for track...just curious and a little confused....just be cautious of other versions...China made, etc...but Wheel Dynamics, Italian made, are strong enough for track use ??

So the Solid spoke twists I have now weight 25.1 front and 28.8 Rear? They are called " Solid Spoke Technology Narrow" on the list?

and 18" Ruf's weight 25.5 Front and 27.1 Rear? So the rear wheel is lighter then my rear wheel now?

and are the MY02's the "Porsche OEM 996 Cast" on the list which weight 19.6 Front and 22.9 Rear?

If im looking at this right then I definatly want the MY02's because saving 5.5lbs per front wheel and 5.9lbs per rear wheel will make a HUGE diffrence in Performance. Thats like taking out 200lbs from the car.

FYI, I emailed WheelEnhancement.com asking about MY02 wheels last week, this is their reply.
However I forgot to ask if their replica (aftermarket) wheels are made in Italy or China.

I have the aftermarket MIM Italian replicas. Awesome wheels and a great price. I've put a lot of miles on them -- they hold up very well, cosmetically too. The Chinese ones I personally wouldn't use.

Here are a few shots of some OEM MY02's on my C4S. Pricey, but nice. I got them at Wheel Enhancement. If you're patient, you can find them for less on eBay, etc.
