Default Fister & the Statue of Liberty

My wife & just made it home after spending two days in NYC (Manhattan). We traveled by train on Thursday in order to attend a dinner with nine high rollers and their spouses from my wife's company (not sure why I was allowed in the mix...). The hotel was unbelievable and the private dinner at the Bouley Test Kitchen was something we'll never forget.

We spent today exploring parts of the city and then making our way down to see the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. Apart from the very brisk temperatures, visiting these landmarks was something very special for us. The sheer size and intricate detail of the Statue are things that no photograph can correctly show.

After another train ride, we pulled into our driveway 15 minutes before the snow started. Once inside, I opened a rather suspicious package from the monkeys at FD Motorsports. Suspicious in that I recently ordered a t-shirt, yet this box easily weighed 4 or 5 pounds....

Never a dull moment around the parts. Thank you both for the holiday cheer!!

Does your wife know you found her photo with that well-dressed man?

My plan is be in Cactusville by tomorrow evening for a festive gathering...

I lived in Iceland for two years. The way people react to snow in this area is laughable.

Andreas

Just to "correct" you, our resident "turn-any-piece-of-junk-or-discarded-porsche-part-into-art" making friend :

You mean....the way the local highway maintenance deal with snow is laughable.

And the way there are no true regulations enforced (except colorado and notrthern california from what I'm told) for required snow tires or chains is laughable.

and the way typical U.S. drivers "use the force" while driving in the snow....is laughable.

me?.....when the snow hits.... it is time to take the C4 and do some rallying....at night of course.....with the right snow tires.... and...no one else on the road..... except the guy in the quattro audi....it's all good !

This reminds me: Just a warning to all who post; there are (apparently) a lot of normal people out there who don't post but read everything here. Eek. We run into them all of the time. It isn't just this group of nutballs. Just sayin'...

BTW AOW, who's the dude sucking on the funny pipe?
The look in his eye reminds me of someone... hmm...

You didn't get to meet up with anybody else did you?

..I thought that was a picture of you and Darin that you included in Andreas' Christmas gift ....

Nice camerawork. Never ceases to amaze me how people with artistic right-brain tendencies seem to get it in spades ...

I love the picture looking up at the Eagle statue with all the mud-dobber wasp nests clinging to the base (which look like they're made from the same material as the statue). Wonderful.

Sweet pics!!! I love the Statue through the 4. What camera are you using? I see a couple of the same spots on different pictures. If your lens isn't dirty, you may have to clean your sensor. Just FYI.
