Unhappy CGT spoted today

What's interesting is that today was the first snow in Vancouver. The car was driving on HWY99 opposite to me about an hour ago and I had already seen three cars go off the road into the ditch a few minutes before. keep an eye out on www.wreckedexotics.com.

Probably someone rushing to transport it to storage for the winter?!?! He wasn't alone. I saw an Acura NSX as well with blingy 19" wheels.

I thought the guys driving their new 911s to work when it was -25C were nuts.

I have no issues driving a $50-$100k car in the snow with proper tires. 911s in the snow are a blast. I bought one of my previous C4Ss with beat up paint with the idea of running Rallycross in the winter. I never did but I did drive it in the snow with Blizzaks and it was on rails and great fun. What I don't get is risking a twitchy, out-of-production, $350k supercar with extreme summers in the snow. We already had one very public CGT incident here in Vancouver.

Don't know. I think there's at least two GT Silvers in town.

As far as I'm concerned you don't drive anything you like in the winter at least around here. Winter is for your DD where you accept the beating it will take. The sand, salt and ice ages a vehicle quickly. Driving a CGT is just taking it to an extreme let alone the safety and depreciation issues. I wonder how much ground clearance it has? That said, I do have a little respect for those who just love to drive their Porsches rain or shine. I'll just go back to babysitting my BMW that won't start. I've got a large halogen light under the engine to heat it up. BMW doesn't recommend oil pan heaters/block heaters and thier road side assistance folks won't boost it because I didn't plug it in? Infuriating!

Not much. It would do a pretty good job of plowing snow if that gives you any idea.

To be clear, the snow was just starting to paint the road white were I spotted the CGT. That said, there was a lot more snow a few miles ahead of where it was going (and where I was coming from)...enough to cause a BMW, a Lexus and some Pontiac to go off-roading.

A CGT in the snow with 335 PS2's? Really? I would not want to be anywhere near that car, especially in front of it!!!
