I like it too. Black top, script, grille, tips, wheels, it all works. I'd like to see pic's with the caps on. Are they all black or is the crest black and silver?

Just as they are looks great. Looks purely functional w/out polished lips. I threw some degreaser on my rotor hats, a little sandpaper action, spray some engine primer followed by flat black engine primer and it cleans it up. You've essentially re-created the color combo of the Gulf 917. Looks perfect!

BTW - what treatment is that on the tips? I'd like to do that to my Mille Miglias tips.

Hey Mark,

They look better than I imagined when you described them earlier. Keep them on for a while and see what you think in a few weeks.

Cheers,
Joe

Definitely gives it a sinister kind of look but I think the silver might be a better match.

Here is a pic of gemballa matt black wheels on my Riv Cab I wanted a polished rim to give a break between the rim and the tire and also painted the porsche crest silver for contrast .

Cheers Guy

I think they're fantastic. Really a great match with all the rest of black bits (cab top/tips/bumperettes/spoiler grille) on your car. Nice work

Edit: Your setup looks great too Guy!

Looks awesome, Mark. Turquoise Blue is my favorite of the funky blues. Cool car.

+1...these but with matte black:

IIRC grey MY02 came on one of the special edition Boxsters....AFAIK those were the only factory available MY02 available in grey.

Any more pics Mark?

...... Matched Blu caps w/ Black details would really finish the look IMO.

If you ever decide to part with them (and Andreas doesn't go for 'em,) please let me know.

Whare you are sayin' Moff? you wanna smoke my pipe?

I am sure somebody more crafty that me could Photoshop that for us.

This is the kind of "contrast distribution" I had in mind:

That was exactly my plan!

Great point on the hats... they need to be black. Thanks!
The tips are powder coated also. It holds up pretty well but ceramic coating would last longer.

Thanks Joe... you need to see it in person, hopefully soon. What's with the rain? Heck, you might have had a little snow up on the "mountain"

I need to take some more (and hopefully better) shots with the all-black center caps... and soon to be black rotor hats.

Funny, after seeing your cab my wife just said she thinks she'd like the wheels better with a polished lip. Thanks Guy!
