I think you did great. Your purchase reminds me a lot of a silver C4S with 80k mi. I bought a couple of years ago through eBay. It was at a Porsche dealer and when I called I was told it was on consignment by a guy who had a 7GT3 on order. I got them to put me in touch with him and he turned out to be a longtime PCA member, DE instructor, Porsche fanatic and a very genuine guy. He sent me pictures of what amounted to 1" stack of receipts. The car had a top end and clutch done 6k mi prior so based on good will and trust, I did the unthinkable and purchased sight unseen and without PPI. Long story short, it was by far the strongest 993 of the four I've owned, including a 52k km garage queen C4S. I hope yours turns out to be just as good. Congrats again and welcome.

Congrats! Agree with others here: great deal, and it seems like you did your due diligence. With good records, a clean PPI, and a car-nut previous owner of many years, you scored. That the car has only 128K miles is gravy!
...125K here and going strong (with lots of track duty and daily-driving: amazing cars these 993s!

128k on a '95 is no big deal. Check the high mileage threads and you will be amazed. I am just about to turn 125k and only major expense was a clutch at 81k. Runs & drives flawless, it's a factory M030 car still on original suspension and is tighter than my '96 non M030 993 with 46k.

Guys...these snaps aren't very artistic...but you can see she's about as straight up as they come. This is the interior.....but you have to admit - she's pretty clean..

If the car is as good as the sellers claimed it to be (not enough detailed photos to make a fair "internet assessment"), I think you did just fine at $19,000. I've seen '95 993's that were far more trashed and with 100,000 plus miles sell for $16,000-$17,000.

Enjoy!

Unless the owner had strong OCD tendencies and actually ordered a new firing order decal from Porsche (who the hell would do that?!), I'd say the car still has its original distributor caps. And likely the original rotors.....

Just a thought.

An RS sold for Euros 38000 last year. It had 300000Kms. Had been used as a DD since day 1.

New owner rebuilt the engine and he now has a great car ... and it was a bargain.

Nice color BTW.

Good catch!
But there pretty shot around 30k, can't imagine the car even running right with them over 100,000mi!

Do you have the sticker on yours? I bet you do.

I think that you got yourself a very good car at a very good price...and I say that as someone with a similar experience to yours. I purchased my 95 C2 in mid August with 100,000 miles for 20kUSD. I found it, after much searching from various sources, like you on ebay - while I didn't purchase it on there - the auction was ending unsuccessfully when I first saw it so I contacted the seller and after much discussion worked out a price. Unfortunatley for me my car was 2 1/2 months shy of being 15 years old so I needed to go through RIV and pay the Porsche Canada fee for the recall letter...long story. I didn't get on this forum until sept after a porsche guy at work told me about it - I would have saved a lot of time and money had I been on before I bought - but live and learn and now I'm on here everyday reading and learning - it's a great resource. If you're near Ottawa or have any questions feel free to pm me.

Enjoy your car
