Happy for you, but first the deserved ribbing!

Alf-- Since you promised, now we know you're good on your word

P.S. Is "PART 4" where we learn it's never been driven, Turbo S Speedster, white paint with can-can red interior, owned by Butzi Porsche, loaned to Seinfeld for a year, stored in a vacuum...

... & that you won it in a $1 raffle?

Okay Alf, I think you're gonna have to come clean with the board and explain how and where it is that you find these crazy deals, assuming of course that this C4S in question is one as was your current car. What was it? $14k??? Not fair!!!

Not sure where you guys are finding and buying 15k C4S coupes for $36k????????????????

I would buy everyone I came across for those dollars. Good cars, docs, low miles, good options, etc. will always fetch higher dollars than most RL'ers seem to state.

I paid $42k earlier this year for my 18k '97 993 Coupe. I know, you will say I paid to much. And that is before I went down the slippery slope. But, my car has records and somewhat hard to find OEM factory options.

Louis-- +1!

Plus, his acquisition stories are great, & he has some incredible cars.

In your example, IIRC, the previous owner & Alf were in such a bad traffic jam that he got out to walk up to the stranger's 993 & make an offer.

$42k is NOT too much. That was a fine deal with those miles, just excellent!

To the OP, if a 10 out of 10 car with 6,000 miles, it is worth every penny of $50,000.

Default $50K +

Some of you guys are wishful thinkers....a 6K mile '97 C4S with options....no less than $50K even if the seller is desperate for the cash....unless he has no idea on the value of the car he's selling.

Just sold a three owner 30K mile C2S for $47K and there were multiple offers over $40K.

Cool "special" or freaky gross "special"? The McDonald's pastel yellow over red and the one with the green interior come to mind.

I don't see much of a value difference between 15K and 6K. Both extremely low. Other factors would set them apart more. My number was also $45K before I saw the first price post.

There's only so far you can go with C4S values until you get to C2S values (yes, I said higher on the C2S). Then you're capped out by all of the Turbos changing hands +/- $50K.

Sounds like a very special. What is the color combo?

From what you say, it's a special price car as well.

Based on what you say, high $50's low $60's. You can't get this any where else.

I would agree with Stealth $55 to $65. As long as the color combo isn't neon pink and purple.

Lets see, if he lied in the Part 1, could there still be lies. This isn't Seinfeld's turbo 993, is it?

I know what you guys want to believe that 993s never depreciate but when you can get a 2006 or 2007 C2S for $50 to $60K, which is FAR better than the 13 or 14 year old 993 with the required top end rebuild, I think we are talking about $45K, tops.

Even more compelling options are 6GT3s sub $50k and 7GT3s at $80k. But when you see SCs and Carreras bringing in $30k, it's clear there's a lot of money for the nostalgia of the era. As exciting as the 3s are, they don't have the cache of the aircooled predecessors. I doubt these cars will get much cheaper than they are right now. Anyway, back on topic...Alf, what's going on???
