Default Sticky throttle, ISV? Need picts or suggestions

I just picked up my 96 993 today, and love it. Drove it about 700 miles. After a few hunderd miles I stopped at a toll booth...idle stuck at 3000 until I "blipped'. Then, back to normal (maybe a bit low now...500-600) Now anytime I accelerate and shift, or go into neutral it sticks at 3K until I blipp.

In my search I found that this is the ISV but am unsure of procedure and what it looks like in a 993. Any picts would help! Also, could there be another problem? I am glad to return to the aircooled world...its been a long time since I remember this kind of greif. At least there is the internet now!
Thanks.

By your description that wouldn't be an ISV issue. The ISV is only in play at idle.

It sounds like the throttle cable or pedal is sticking somewhere, I'd track this issue down ASAP!

Is the floor mat or something getting pinched under the accelerator? I agree with MarkD, this is something you should address ASAP.

Thank you. Before driving it again this morning I sprayed some carb cleaner on the linkage in the engine bay. Im not sure if was just a better day for the car or if it was cleaning the linkage. We will see and I will check the throttle cable if it returns.
