Default Turbo S duct light question

I just ordered the duct from Sunset and was wondering, if possible, to use my stock foglights in place of the driving light that's built into the duct? Specifically, if i can remove the h3 foglight housing from stock foglight and install it onto the turbo s duct.

I don't think so. IIRC, the bulb housing (plastic) and lens (glass) is all glued together as one piece on the fog lights. I don't think it would work even if they were separated. It has been a while since I took mine out, someone feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

The simple answer is no, but many things are possible if you are crafty.

I took my old fogs apart and plan to attempt something similar if I decide it's worth it. Easier just to buy some small Hellas, though.

Actually, the OEM Hella fog lights can be easily removed from the plastic housing. (see photo 1 below)

The H3 metal/glass unit fits nicely in the hole for the TurboS light and provides improved lighting. (see photo 2)

If you want the ultimate light source ... try a HID H3 bulb with either the Hella OEM fog or the Hella DE fog ...

Ted, that's exactly what I am planning...I already have HID bulbs in the stock fogs and figure I should put it to good use once the duct goes in. how do you mount the stock foglight unit onto the duct?

I know you can take them apart, but how would you mount them?
...and it doesn't look like a water tight assm, when you're done...

I just installed the factory OEM Turbo S positioning lights/ducts. Since I am no longer using the fog light, that harness is just zip tied to the positioning harness...but I can still see it through the duct. Anywhere else it can go? I want to keep it intact in case I go back to stock in the future.
