If you think it's stressful to let someone else do it, try doing it yourself! Great project; I would love to add an early 911 or 912 to the stable when I can afford it.

I just love this project. It's so great that you have the history of the car -- that back story is terrific. And it sounds like you are being respectful to the car. Thank you for "saving" this one.

I adore the early 911s and 912s and dream of the day when I can bring one home. Please keep us updated as the car is rebuilt -- I can't wait for the next chapter!

Here's one for you, Mark. Out of all the beautiful, straight cars there, this one's my favorite. Lot's of bondo, bumps, bruises and mis-aligned panels from years of slugging it out on California race tracks. They're getting ready to restore/rebuild it to enter the Mille Miglia, but if it were mine, I wouldn't touch a thing ... except the key P.s. 190 WHP, 1980 lbs with 1/2 tank of gas. That's what I call a ratio!

Well, things are moving along. She will be heading down to Upholstery in the next week or so ....

We're still pushing to be able to show the car for the first time at the 912 Registry Rendevous in Healdsburg, Ca on August 6th.

You're welcome. I know there are folks here that can appreciate the process. The way I see it, the next generation of Porsche addicts will be doing this to our 993's in a few years, so might as well start thinking about saving all those stock parts we're all accumulating because they're going to be very valuable soon ....

Thanks Chris! That's a real compliment coming from you and I appreciate it. Really enjoyed watching your video's BTW. Was wondering which 3-Axis CAD system you're using ... maybe Pro-E or CATIA?

Thanks, I do too, but I realize it's not everyone's cup of tea. It's sophisticated and VERY German. I think it's going to look great against the black leatherette with grey Corduroy seat inserts ...

I think restoration threads might be my favorites. As someone who's gone through it before, I appreciate every square inch of every detail...and dollar! It's great to see a 912 being given this treatment. I expect that most owners aren't as motivated compared to the bigger ROI on an early 911.

Thanks for sharing it over here on 993. I'm pretty sure that if it's air-cooled, we're pretty much into it!

I think solid 912's are finally coming into their own. Since this car is so early and with the sunroof/colors, so rare, it's value should meet or exceed it's 911 brethren.

Love this stuff.

Happy to see a 912 that dodged the fate of becoming a fiberglass testarossa kit.
