What is this connector?

I was vacuuming leaves out of my engine compartment the other day (previous owner had it parked outside) and I noticed this wire connector hanging down at the rear of the engine on the drivers side. It kind of looks like a fuel injector connection, but all three injectors are plugged in still.
The car seems like it runs okay without it, but what is it for?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,

I just went out and looked all over my engine (since it's on the ground) and didn't come across anything like that. Red and green wires with a metal retaining clip. Closest thing I could find was for the lights in the rear reflector. Sorry I couldn't be more help, good luck.
Edit: ok I found something close... colors are still off (unless I'm seeing brown as green above)
Edit edit ... went back to looking found another connector is this it? Ok that's it I promise until someone more knowledgeable chimes in

If your car is a '95, it could be the 'extra' connector that is part of the universal wire harness Porsche used to replace defective harnesses when they recalled them all. Can anyone here verify?

Nollie,
where in the engine compartment did you take that picture.
Mine is all the way back by the furthest fuel injector on the drivers side.
The wires are green and red.. it looks just like the one you are showing.

Dan, just to clarify, it's only "extra" if the harness update is done on a 95. The plug is for the varioram and they used the same harness update for all 993s.
Hope your project is moving along well!

Thanks everyone! That must be it. My car is a 95' and it had the upgraded harness done.
Whew, I was worried it was important and would be very difficult to plug back in.
Thanks again for all the help!
