My German Shorthaired Pointers travel in the back of our 911's quite regularly. I stuff some old pillows or cushions in the rear footwells to fill that gap and then simply spread a large blacket over the rear seats. Works a treat.
Cody one of our Shelties rides up front held snuggly in his own sport seat for short trips around town. For the longer road trip and PCA tours I'll lower the rear seat backs and line the top with a blanket over the LLoyd rear shelf mat with his padded bed set on top so he can sit and look forward between the seats or out the side windows.
On my way to Fort Bragg, toured via tail of the dragon and found a really friendly dog at a service station at the end of tail of the dragon. I saw the dog had no collar, and approached the dog cautiously, waiting for him to nuzzle my legs, of course he did then I knew I could pet him without him biting me. I went into the service station and come back and the dog runs over to me and follows me to the car. Seemed like he wanted to go for a ride with me. Closed the door and he just stood on his legs peeking inside. Too bad most humans aren't sooo friendly...
My last dog a beautiful Great Dane passed away in Nov 2006, I really miss him. We were doing renovations in our house, as my wife and I worked everyday I always felt that he was keeping an eye on the work being done and when the house was done he paased away. Its been 5+ years and we have been talking about getting a new dog and wanted to wait a bit until my boys got a little older. Now that my sons are 8 and 6 we decided it was time and long story short after all of our research we picked up our Tibetan Terrrier from a breeder.
First time having a female dog as all of my other dogs were males, but this one female dog really got attached to us and breeder also thought that she was a perfect fit for our family. So we came home with her today and kids loves her, now all we need is a name.
