Default Big tires under a "stockish" 993 WB

Just as an FYI i'll let the group know that yes, you can use "grossly swollen" tires under a near RS ride height WB.

I recently acquired a set of 996 TT wheels (in SY!) shod with NT01s (Thanks Chris W !).
Rear tires = 315 - 30 X 18
Front tires = 245 - 40 X 18

I was primarily interested in the wheels, but could not resist seeing if the tires would fit without rubber-to-sheetmetal contact.

I did some testing on Saturday and an AX on Sunday with no fitment issues.
I'm not saying these sizes of tires is a good idea................
just letting you know what's possible.

My car has -2 degrees camber front and rear.
Ride height = RS +10mm
Fenders are NOT rolled

Rear tires work with no issues, i think i'd feel a bit more comfortable if fronts were 245 - 35 instead of 245 - 40.

Cheers

Craig

No comments about the lovely color combo.................. please.
Even for track wheels, SY and Iris Blue is barely tolerable.

I'm running 996TT Hollows with the 295 rears on my C4S . Although the look is much better IMHO, I don't feel the ride or handling are better.

Any wider and you'll need to tub the rear!

+1... I dont know why, but I like it

315 on a wide body is not surprising, 285-295 fits my narrow body easy.

Just throw some Sonoco graphics on there and you are good to go. I nice alternative to all of the "Gulf" cars running around....

Make sure the rolling diameters in the front and rear are within 4%, otherwise your AWD system won't like it.

I'm running 295/235 with no issues.
Good to know I can throw some 305's back there!

What's up with the painter tape? Cone marks come off easy, or you just don't hit'em!

I'm running 205's and 255's -- no rubbing at all.

Wow....now that has got to be one planted car!
...pssst, btw, don't tell anyone, but I think it looks kinda cool for a track car. Dunno why, but the yellow works

What tire are you running 315? I'd like to look up what the tread / section widths are. I've been thinking of running Kumho's 305 or Hoosier's 315 next season. Hooser 315 A6 have a section width of 12.5" and Kumho V710 have a section width of 11.8" on their 305s... now when you look at the Michellin PSC for a 295 your at 12.1"

I think remember reading WB folks running 295s for the pilot sport cups which would hypothetically mean I could run the 315 A6 and have no issues. Plus I'm betting whatever 315 you have is probably wider than the A6 315
