Any contact info you can pass along for someone that does great work in the Walnut Creek area would be GREAT! Thanks!
Yes I did get a new windshield installed at the end of October and so far I am happy with it, although I have not driven the car very much in the last 3 weeks. It was OEM glass ordered by the installer through the Porsche dealer and installed by Action Glass. Job seems very nicely done - no squeaks so far. They did not use the "rope kit", FWIW. Off the top of my head I don't recall their phone number (it was local to the 925 area code) and a yahoo yellowpages search only shows an 800#. I'll look up the # tonight and update the post.

Action Auto Glass 925-687-9000.

They did a great job for me. I have no commercial interest in their business--just a happy customer!

Just to follow up on this......

Action put a windshield in my '96 last week and I am a happy customer. Ordered and got everything needed to install the glass in 2 days. Drove me to the BART station after dropping the car off. Not a mark, scratch, nick or scuff in the paint anywhere! No squeaks, rattles or leaks! VERY pleased and I say thank you to the forum for the suggesting them.

I'm in the same boat. The nasty weather started a creak on a previous chip. In this thread I found

Jim at Jim's Auto Glass 925-381-7204
Action Auto Glass in Concord/Walnut Creek 925-687-9000

I'll call my insurance first to see the process they have (CSAA).
