Default Picked Mine Up This Weekend As Well.....

First Porsche, '96 C2. I'm sure to have many questions but I've already found the list to be quite informative. Got to the bottom of the "whirring noise from the dash," as well as some insight on the immobilizer.

Congrats, welcome aboard, welcome to the slope and the madness. How about some more pics and some specs about it.

Was the noise from the dash the CCU fan? Other than that congrats on a very nice car. BTW nice job on 1st post with pics. Moffat keeps track of that sort of thing. Hats off to you. And since your somewhat new it's a cigarette in the squirrels mouth.

Yes, seems what I was hearing was the CCU fan. Not loud enough to annoy, it just got my attention and didn't know what it was.

So, more details, what little I know at this point, 1996 C2 (manufacture date 9/95) with just shy of 76k miles. From what I can tell it's stock. Just waiting for some new floor mats and a front boot carpet liner from the dealer.

Got my first dose of Porsche ownership reality when I went into the local dealer yesterday enquiring about getting a 2nd key and immobilizer. Ouch, the cost!

And yes, the drive home from the dealer (when first purchased) was very exciting.

Few more pics:

Congratulations! I'm right behind you...hopefully, expect delivery of my 1st Porsche in less than 14 days. Your car looks great!

Would you mind sharing, as a new Porsche owner, your take on the "immobilizer" issue. Were you given any key tips as a new owner or advice on living with the "immobilizer"?

The thought of parking my new and first Porsche, standing there listening to an alarm blasting is not something I want to be part of.

Thanks,
