Awesome! Those were some bold moves with that 430 and nice to see people driving like that.

suprised that Calum would drive that aggressively on a trackday

but then you don't know how long he had to endure being blocked by that fezza

beautiful looking car... i personally didn't like the tone of the trackday footage though

Calum was pushing the Ferrari for all it was worth because he knew the driver really well. Can't remember who the other pro driver was but it is definitely someone who regularly drives in International GT championships so the guy was no dummy. The amusing thing is that said Ferrari was on a driver experience day where the highlight was a few fast laps with the pro to "see how it's done" - not sure what the paying passenger would have thought about being overtaken by an "old" 911....

The brake scoops are painted in Lechler "Liquid Glass". This special paint is applied over a black gloss basecoat and gives the effect of bright annodised aluminium; we normally use it for wheel refinishing.

Just watched it again.

Always makes me laugh when Calum shouts out "yee-hah" when passing the Westfield .....

With respect to the driving standards, to be fair I watched Calum's entire 25 minute session and the only time he was in any way aggressive was up behind that Ferrari driven by his friend. What you see in the video was the culmination of around 5 laps of said friend blocking every move he made to overtake in the obviously faster 9m93RS. Other than that he just blitzed around everything out there without breaking sweat.

Since my firewalls have restricted me from many websites, can someone tell me the name of the video?

Thanks,

Ken

ok I get you, be interested to know what sort of times he was getting

the video at the end shows an approximate clear lap of around 58 seconds which is obviously very slow... (maybe not Calum driving ?)

The lap time is probably not representative, it was a cold day in December which started off wet. That said, a few years ago I took my near identical 993RS CS to Brands when it was fitted with a similar 9m 3.82 race engine, at the time it would have been around 15hp down on the black 9m93RS as a result of running stock 993 heat exchangers (because I had not yet designed the 9m header set on the Black car). It was my first visit to Brands and on old Dunlop Supersport Race tyres in practise my car lapped consistently in the 54s bracket; the tyres were the limiting factor, with a set of R888 or MSC I think I could have knocked 2 clear seconds off that time - 996GT3 Cup Cars on new MSC's were running 54-53s on the same day.

I was waiting for a spin or a crash at the end. Pushed the car hard, and the Ferrari too.

It's tough to pick a favourite 993 but this has to be in the top three. Awesome.

Colin,

If you keep posting these damn threads with tempting pictures - AND NOW VIDEO - I'm going to have to buy ITBs. Dammit.

Car looks and sounds great

wow....

looks like a lot of fun.

I like the laugh at 2:11 after the little tweak at 2:07 (right at the start of the in-car footage).

And so you should, but not just any old ITB's - they have to be 9m ITB's to sound and look this good!
