3rd Porsche but first 911
Hi All,
I do not post much but do spend lots of time reading and learning from this great site. My first Porsche was a 944 S2, did a few track days and got hooked with the track bug. My second car was a 968 M030 car, great track car that I gutted caged etc. Between those 2 cars that was my first 8 years. I did lots of track stuff and became a PCA instructor through the Rennsport region. Great region, great driving and teaching talent and best of all very safe place to learn how to drive a Porsche. Some of you I'm sure know of Bob Rouleau, nice guy and runs GREAT driver education program..... I believe the safest record in all PCA regions.
Now on to the reason for this post, My first 911. I spent the better part of this year looking at all types on P-cars... Cayman, 996 X51, 996 twin, 964 turbo, 911 turbo and 993. I wanted something I did not have to trailer, I did that for a few years and got sick of the on, off trailer thing. I have a 9 and 7 year old and wanted to make life a little easier. I also wanted a car I could do some track work with, yes a little of a street car and a little of a track car. HARD TO FIND.
In my search I kept coming back to the 993. It's not going to be the fastest car at the track but the experence of driving a 993 is hard to beat. It's just the right mix of old school rawness, looks and speed.
So as you can guess I picked a 1995 993 with a bunch of track stuff on it. It was a fellow Rennlisters from Chicago (real nice guy moving on to spec miata). Drove one weekend to look at it, made the deal, next weekend got a trailer and went and picked it up. I borrowed a trailer from a friend who owns a Trailer shop. Primo Trailers. They sell Pace and Trailex, if you need a car trailer Chris is the guy, fellow Rennlister Who ownes a GT3 and 997.
On to the pics, Start of trip to end. Tks to all the 993 guys who post here. I think this is one of the best forums on Rennlist!

I drove my "new" 993 home in January. It is my third Porsche, too, after owning a 914 and a 968. They are all great cars but you're REALLY going to love your Carrera. Enjoy.
It's beautiful, too, by the way.

Tks for all the nice remarks. I am real happy to be a owner of one of these great cars. The car is set up real nice as far as susp goes. Motons, trg sways, camber plates , 2.9 and 3 degrees. I have a few little things to fix, chip in headlight cover, fix or replace front splitters, they are a little beat up. The Rufs have street tires and the MY02 have Nitto R compounds. The track I go to most is Calabogie and is only an hour from my house so will run R to and from track. I went for a ride up to Calabogie, car rides real nice on soft susp setting, can't wait to try the firm/ track set up.
That beer in the pic was one of the best I've ever had
I found a few more pics from the trip and of the car..... Boxsters get no respect, on a flatbed?
The last pic is of the new clubhouse at Calabogie, real nice! There is a race shop and garages at the back, with more garages being built.
Cheers,

Great looking car. Welcome! And with Moton's, you really are setup nicely for the track. I look forward to your report after your first event with the 993.
But for the record, if you have driven a Carerra, SC, mid year, or especially an early car, there is nothing "raw" about a 993.
