If it has a salvage title don't pay $80K for it, OK?

Here's a comp:

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsc...-cashmere.html

White '97 Turbo "S" 12k miles
Asking $138,000

Looks veeeery nice, but not $138k nice, probably still worth over six figures though.

For $138K, I'd be in a 2010 Turbo with zero miles and no stories!

Yes, the "S" makes it worth well into the six figure range IMO and comparing and S to a regular twin is like comparing a C2 to a C2S.

OP: I can't be much help as I'm not up on the twin market changes of late but I'm sure there's no such thing as wholesale/retail on a 12 y/o narrow market car with 4k mi.

I talked with an indy dealer here locally recently and he was looking at one (not sure if its the same one) for what he thought would be right at 100K

How is this a comp? You are showing a Turbo S...the OP is asking about a standard Turbo.

Please expand upon this. Would the indy dealer buy it at $100K or sell at $100K?

To sell at $100K...I'd bet he'd try to buy it at about $80K and then flip it for $100K.

I agree....you can't compare an "S" to a regular TT, even it if has super low miles. Does anybody remember the 2 Marshall Goldman '97 TT's that they had for sale a few months ago? There was an ocean blue metallic one as well as a black one. They each had 10K miles on them. I was in the search mode at the time and the salesman said I could get the black one for $82,000 ish and the blue for 79,000 ish.

I was just beginning to get into the 993 TT mkt at that time and didn't know enough to jump on it at that time.

sorry, that was a buy He originally said "a Turbo" and i thought he was crazy until he told me it was a low miles "S" then it started to make sense. That car in a good market is probably a buck and a quarter retail............today?

He has actually asked the same question in 4 forums (each time substituting the appropriate model # to match the forum):

993Turbo forum
996Turbo forum
993 forum
996 forum

A bit odd.

There are two cars at the auction - one is a 2001 996 and one is a 1997 993 and both are black/black with under 4000 mi...

Yes they really do exist - I'll post after the auction.

I posyed on four different areas to get more exposure/replies.

Thankis for you help (not so much your scepticism)
