I lived in Tampa Bay for years, but Vortex was not there then, unless it used to be Dave White Autosports. But I also recommend Joe Vatter at GermanTech in Largo FL; he also imports TechArt into the US and has connections at Porsche as well. He solved a mysterious problem with a sluggish 3.2 Carrera that both Dave White, Reeves Porsche and Eibell Performance could not (Reeves and Dave White suspected valve guides and recommended rebuilds; Eibell changed out and cleaned injectors to no avail -- a costly experiment), and while it took him a full week of experimenting, compression checks, leakdown tests, changing filters, plugs, plug wires, swapping parts and DMEs with another car and digging into it to eventually discover the source (it was a flawed fuel rail), he charged me for two hours of labor. "Why should you pay while we learn?" he asked. I have never forgotten that.

I have taken my Porsches (85 & 95 911s) and an Audi to him. There is always a nice mix of BMW, MB and VOLVO's but I usually only pay attention to the P cars :-). He is a straight shooter and will take your PPI just as detailed as you want him to go.
