+1. Mark and Darrin are good people.

back on the subject...

I changed my plug wires on my 90k. Not only did it take another 2.5 hours to do (it's a PITA, ROYAL PITA) but my old wires were perfect, & there was no benefit, other then the fact they have been changed.

It also cost me another $500!!

My advice, if you are not shorting out, or getting misfires, don't change them.

Most of my parts came from my local shop, they gave me their wholesale prices.
Bosh is Bosh, weather it comes in the 25% MARKUP, Porsche box or not.

At 90K, changing the wires is a very good idea.
Did you put an ohm-meter to each resistor? If you did and all was well... then yeah, you could have waited longer. But normally they are pretty much toast at those miles.
Pulling each to test before replacing is really painful...

Anyhow, it probably wasn't a waste of $$ So cheer up!

PS- thanks for the really nice comments in this thread

Good to know that FDMotorsports offers parts at a competitive price. I will be ordering from Fister in the very near future.

I got them due to people saying they would be shot @ 90k.

Mine were not, yes, I tested a couple, they were fine.

If I don't have to change them out for another 15 years, I'll be happy! It wasn't a fun job.

For plug wires is it Bosch or Beru that are preferred?

And last I heard the Porsche branded oil filters are now being supplied by Hastings. Seems PCNA is sourcing locally (as other OEMs do...)

The Beru wires are nice. They come loomed up ready to install.

I've never seen Bosch plug wires for our cars...
Beru is the OE mfg.

If you are unsure about your plug wires I would say replace them and keep the old ones as spares. If the boot caps are in good shape then you could consider reusing them. Someone was selling sets of just the wires both here and on eBay IIRC.
