Default 90k tune up parts...best source...Pelican or Sunset?

Any difference between getting from Pelican or Sunset in terms of what is best to use?

Also, do people typically change the plug wires then? If not, when?

I think if you didn't change them at the 60K service, then at 90K it's probably a good idea to change the plug wires then.

FDM has great prices, and Darin and Mark are very helpful/responsive. Check it out:

I'm getting set for a 60K mile service and will do the wires at that time. (Not sure when they were last changed, if ever.)

Having bought many parts i can tell you that sometimes sunset is cheaper and sometimes pelican is cheaper it just varies with different parts, It would be best to have about 4 or 5 sources then check them all.
Sunset
Pelican
Ebay
Vertex........etc etc..

FDMotorsports will more than likely be your best bet.

If you want OE parts in Porsche boxes from a Porsche dealer at prices more often than not less than OEM parts, Sunset or Suncoast are the way to go. Otherwise, I cross shop between, Arizona Autohaus, Automotion, Pelican, and Vertex.

Interesting...

In regards to OE parts, I see Porsche parts (which are not always mfg by Porsche, by the way) in Porsche boxes with Porsche part #s come through.
Brands like Bosch are the exception but they come from Porsche in the same packaging. And at lower prices.

You'd be surprised at how much incest there is in our car's parts supply chain!

I am certain that almost no parts are mfg by Porsche. We know that filters are made by Mahle, for instance. You saying the Bosche parts are cheaper as Porsche parts? This has not been my experience (e.g. CPS on 968).

The past 2 companies I have worked at do a lot of mfg and marking as other brands. A lot of incest, indeed!

Agreed, Porsche makes very few parts themselves. Most are outsourced...

No, not saying Bosch is cheaper through Porsche, just the opposite!
Sorry I wasn't clear

Most all "Porsche" parts are cheaper via another source, even when compared to Sunset. There are some exceptions I have run across though.

OT -- Mongrelcat -- looks like Katherine Legge in your avatar.

She is a wonderful person and quite a talented driver.

An image with her when she drove one of our cars

FDMotorsports (http://fdmotorsports.net/index.htm) No affiliation, other than I like them . I always prefer to buy from enthusiasts and really good guys, when given the chance. When their prices and service are better than most, it's really a no-brainer! Paul

Yep, that's her in my avatar. I've been a fan since the Atlantics days and I was watching the DTM race this past weekend and she did an interview, looking spectacular, and well I can't really think of a better avatar subject.

I know I have seen that photo in some thread around here, previously, great photo of you two! I'm really pleased to hear that she's as terrific as she seems, though I never doubted that she was.

Here's a shot I took a few years ago at Long Beach.

Cheers.

What mongrelcat, Mr. Cactus, and Paul said - FD Motorsports would be the way to go! Their prices are competitive and they're always here on Rennlist.
