I can't figure out how this came about. Burned up 3.6, originally intended to deceive and this seller is being somewhat forthright, who knows? Not a Phoenix car car BTW.

Its not a 993 at all, look at the wipers, brakes, lugage compartment. It is a 911 or 930 rebodied. At the end of the ad they talk about all new panels....

The title is pretty bogus, but anybody really looking for a Turbo S would know right away by the price. Otherwise, it seems pretty straightforward and probably will appeal to those certain people looking for such a car (a Frankenstein.) No real harm done, imho.

Didn't Precision move to North Carolina or somewhere in the SE?

Thanks. That hadn't occured to me. They don't give the model year in the ad as well as using the term "Porsche 911 993 custom Built''. I also have to admit that the whole package didn't look quite right but that can come from the focal length of the camera used as well.

I paid for a good portion of law school hacking '69-'77 (and the odd cheap SC) chassis into slope/930/Carrera/RS/RSR wannabes. Probably would have done a 993 or 964 if they existed at the time. Is a car like this worth it? Likely not. But when I started all this and had next to zero bucks, taking a '68 into a faux IROC/930 got me into the "club" when I was not even of legal drinking age. Thank God for AIR, Mitcom, and all of the other LA fiberglass sweatshops..........

All that money 'invested', and they left the old wiper position.

Oh, and the Pep Boys steering wheel.....

Why? Try to keep a '76 930 in a stock racing (well, it was time trialing as POC/PCA club racing didn't yet exist) class with Al "S" calipers from having a pedal go straight to the floor after one lap going into Riverside 9 and we'll talk further!

At least it's complete, & the body looks good. I hate to think all the money invested, could have got a real 993 TT.

I bet it's fun, looks like a 993, but drives like the widomaker 930.

Did you notice that the dash is made of leather with a stitched seam?
All in all, a lot of car for the money. Not for the purist or the faint of heart.

Twice the speed of what? That this is that much faster than a plain 3.0/3.2 car? Hardly. Stock 930's aren't that fast, definitely by today's standards. The impression that they are can make it seem so. Factor in a screwed around with engine that probably makes less power than stock!

Real world, way back when a friend's decent running Euro (aka 300hp) 930 could barely go from one car length behind me to one car length ahead of my '79 SC when I had the its Euro 3.0, 7:31 driveline setup, basically from 100 to ~145. Certainly behavior I no longer engage in............

The fuse box in the trunk gives it away too, it is the same as my former 1974 Carrera...

Cheers,

It's hard to better Porsche at their game. It's a shame that it's a bit of a hack job when you consider many of the eariler comments, i.e., minimal brakes for what that engine can do, and odd body pieces. We used to call some of these "Scheiße Porsches."

Looks enough like a 993 to me that I can tell those rims are gonna look bad *** on my Polar Silver 993 if I ever find them.

Anyone know anything about the rims. Make/Model etc.

They need to go on my slippery slope list ASAP.

Nick
