M033 kit - sharing data/info
Hello,
I have been researching on all the web sites detailed information about the M033 kits and I was not able to find it out. Mainly, I was trying to find out in details what was included with the kit. Now that I have received my kit, I can share this data with the people who may be interested, so here we go:
There are two P/N's for the M033 kit, also known as a lowering kit for Porsche dealers. Depending on how you interpret the PET or who you talk to, the reasons for the two kits are different. I will give you my version. I can explain why I believe my interpretation is right, if somebody is interested.
#1) P/N 000 044 500 00 (cars without A/C and without Tiptronic)
#2) P/N 000 044 500 01 (cars with A/C or with Tiptronic or both)
The difference is supposedly a slight difference in the rear spring rate. Due to the added weight of the A/C or of the Tiptronic on the rear end. However, talking to Porsche people, the difference is minimum and really you can install any kit on any car.
Here is the breakdown of the kits:
#1) Kit P/N 000 044 500 00 includes
- Front Springs P/N 993 343 531 04 504 (Blue Color)
- Left front shock (Monroe) P/N 993 343 041 38 (same as a Euro C4S)
- Right front shock (Monroe) P/N 993 343 042 38 (same as a Euro C4S)
- Rear Srpings P/N 993 333 531 21 504 (White color)
- Left rear shock (Monroe) P/N 993 333 051 37 (same as any Euro 993)
- Right front shock (Monroe) P/N 993 343 042 38 (same as any Euro 993)
There is no further hardware or sway bars with this kit.
#2) Kit P/N 000 044 500 01 includes
- Front Springs P/N 993 343 531 04 504 (Blue Color)
- Left front shock (Monroe) P/N 993 343 041 38 (same as a Euro C4S)
- Right front shock (Monroe) P/N 993 343 042 38 (same as a Euro C4S)
- Rear Srpings P/N 993 333 531 22 504 (White Lilac)
- Left rear shock (Monroe) P/N 993 333 051 37 (same as any NA non M030 Euro 993)
- Right front shock (Monroe) P/N 993 343 042 38 (same as any NA non M030 Euro 993)
There is no further hardware or sway bars with this kit.
I hope this help.
Now, I also have a rumor I need to share. I have heard, and again this is a rumor, that Porsche was planning to drop the M033 kit deal (which is a heck of a deal if you are asking me pricewise), and that parts would have to be purchased separatly, which costs more than twice as much as the kit itself. So, if you need a kit, hurry up to contact your favorite parts dealer (I recommend Sunset Imports) and check with them.
I hope this will help.

Thanks for the info. I've had M033 springs and bilstein HD's on my car for about four years. Since I don't track my car, it has been a great combo. I switched out from H&R springs and couldn't be happier.

Very good information! Thanks. I'd also be interested in the before and after ride and handling comparison when switching to the MO33 setup along with the size wheels you are using. I'm considering changing from my TechArt springs to the MO33 springs with my HD's to reduce ride harshness.

And I will put Euro sway bars, which will make things a little stiffer but not too much. Actually, I am going to end up with a setup equivalent to a Euro C4S but on a narrow body car. It should be pretty cool, I think. I will let y'all know. But before I can report, I need to take it to the body shop. It's heading your way (Memphis) in October to have Jerry Palmer fix the damages I did on the car in Hallett. Do you know Jerry? He was recommended to me by Pat Williams.

I do know Jerry. He does beautiful work. He's re-sprayed my front bumper and the match is beautiful (polar silver). Wait till you see Jerry's shop and some of the stuff he is working on. He is a true artist. Your car will be in good hands.
Let me know when you're coming to Memphis in October and maybe we can get together.
And if you need any mechanical work done, Pat is the man.

The same kit now costs $2009.65 at Sunset. It seems a great investment in buying Porsche parts
BTW, regarding the two different rear springs, is the difference really negligible? Can I use the white-marking springs (993-333-531-21-504) on manual car with A/C?
