Is it really that most people are getting the rear White springs for their manual but with A/C cars? White springs are supposed for manual cars w/o A/C, right?
The rear Lilac springs will cost $100 more for a pair!
For those who've got M033 springs recently, what exactly have you got for the rear?

When I bought my MO33 springs last year I was not aware that there were different versions of the rears. Mine are marked white and are PN 993 333 531 21. My car has air con and Bilstein HD's and I am very happy with the result. It's street driven only.

I'm looking for some M033 springs to replace my H&Rs. Found this thread via the search and was surprised to see it's got some recent posts on it! Thanks for the data. I now know I'm looking for the lilac springs for my 1995 air con manual C2.

I am starting to believe that the rear white and lilac springs are interchangeable. If lilac springs are to support heavier weight (car with air con or Tip or both), am I right to say it has higher spring rate and thus being stiffer?
Anyway, lilac springs are more expensive and most shops don't carry them in stock because they seem to sell white springs more often.
What should I get?!?!

Hello ellista/et997. I saw your post on 911uk about springs being tired. I took off my old 033 (blue front, lilac rear) and they were exactly the same length as the new ones and seemed to require the same push to compress them (60k miles). Not exactly scientific testing but I would not have bothered fitting new if I had not already bought new ones. In fact the older ones have the ends finished off better; they are bent down slightly, rather than having the chopped look. The new lilac paint looks sweet though!

I am posting the pictures of my front and rear springs. The blue marking on the front is seen, but I couldn't tell whether the rear is white or lilac.

They were a bit skimpy with the lilac paint on the old springs, unlike the new!
There were put on a tip. Incidentally my old shocks were fine also (Boge) . Better than the new Monroe shocks that replaced them. I now have a softer ride!
