Smile Did Porsche make a WB 993 Cabriolet?

I own a 993 Turbo but am not very familiar w/ the non-turbo 993's. Did Porsche make a wide-body 993 cabriolet? Thx

There were no official widebody 993 cabs made by Porsche. There was a group of 10 or 14 (number hasn't been confirmed) that a U.S.dealer (Beverly Hills Porsche, IIRC) made the conversion for their customers.

Maybe I was thinking bout the turbo cabs...

(1987-89), Porsche never officially offered an air-cooled Turbo convertible again. However, in 1995 14 993 Turbo Cabriolets were sold before the introduction of the 993 Turbo coupe. They featured the 360 hp (DIN)Horsepower

Ahh...You're tyhinking of the 993 Speedster Tip that the factory built for his birthday. Cool video!

FWIW, the Turbo cabs that Porsche built, were single turbo cabs (based on 964 turbo engines) on a narrow body Cab. The widebody cabs that were converted here are not turbos but NA engines.

Well said, Tony. I should probably know exactly, but "a couple" sounds perfectly correct.

As the photo in the thread linked by Tony alludes: RLer Jim Newman/ ClubRcr used to own a WB cab from the BH Porsche dealer. I pursued one, but failed.

Related: 3 RLers made contact in the last few weeks who are very serious about building their own 993 Speedsters. (I'm personally familiar with 2 of them; both already have incredible, rare 993s in their collections. I got a message yesterday from the 3rd, who sounds similarly impressive & serious, but I can't yet vouch.) All 3 appear to have determination & excellent resources, including direct connections to what are, IMHO, some of the best Porsche restoration &/or tuning shops, period.
I don't know if they'll be wide-bodies, but I predict we'll have 3 more topless exotic conversions to enjoy here within a year. I'll shut up & let them give specifics in their own timing as they feel appropriate.

Cabrio993-- Thanks for posting the link to that very applicable 2006 thread, similarly titled - "Cabriolet in wide body?". It reminds that:
~5 wide-body cabs were sold by Beverly Hills Porsche (normally-aspirated)
~12-14 single-turbo cabs were sold, but - as Cabrio993 wrote - they're narrow-body.
Post #40, by Zamirz, is a pretty good "Cliffs Notes" summary.

More production #s of topless factory WBs - Speedsters:
Wikipedia mentions only 2 in the world (Butzi's NB & Seinfeld's WB).

According to Adrian Streathers, 6 were produced by the factory after Butzi's, & those were WBs. (Reference: p. 41 of his "Porsche 993: The Essential Companion".)
Related: I talked this past weekend to Mr. Seinfeld & his team in person about his. IIRC, they relayed the vehicle was driven for almost 1,000 miles & then sent back to the factory with the request it be converted to a Speedster.

Do you know what Jerry's Speedster started off as? A C2s?

Are you sure that's a widebody? Any chance you have a pic from the back showing the rear bumper? A lot of times the only way you can tell is to see if 993 have the WB rear bumpers. Esp as IMHO the Speedster configuration tends to make the 993 look wider and so do cabs with the top down.

They made a Turbo Cab with a 964 turbo engine. Either 12 or 14 units
