Default Clutch Pedal Hangs up Under Heavy Braking

Need some help here, I posted this same question a while back but no one knew how or what to fix.

Under very heavy braking my clutch pedal will not fully travel back to it's normal position. I've bled the brakes and the clutch and I still have the same issue. What do I need to replace to fix this and why is it happening? My Dad had the same issue on his 95' 993 after he bled the clutch it went away, I'm not that lucky!

thanks,

Dan

I would guess that you have the usual stuck pedal issue caused by the clutch slave cylinder; the hard braking is probably coincidence.

No coincidence, the clutch is nice and smooth during normal driving. It is only during full threshold braking when it sticks. I'd just love an explanation as to what is going on in the system.

No one knows?

I just read through this and the clutch is smooth the p-car DIY doesn't have anything to do with my issue. What else could it be?

I'd guess that the engine/gearbox might be shifting under heavy braking, affecting the clutch. Do you have stock engine/tranny mounts or something else? At this point, most stock engine mounts are long since toast...

Hmm, I didn't think of that i guess I still don't understand why that would effect the clutch if it is hydraulic. In my last 87, the car never wanted to go into gear when I was really thrashing it around. But that setup is different right?

Can you explain why the engine moving would effect the clutch pedal? Talk to me like I'm 4 years old!

Who knows what I do when I threshold brake. I usually brake in a straightline, I threshold brake when I brake too late! I guess I didn't mean to say threshold brake, I meant to say when the brakes are at their max.

Thanks!

It is possible that the plastic piece that holds the pre-tensioner screw is broken/cracked and is causing the problem?

Someone recently posted pics...something to look into.
