there are a few people here who have the TPC kit...some installed it themselves, some had a shop install and others bot the car with the kit already installed.

do a search

A little bit

I have one on my 964 and love it. Had it for 15K miles, no reliability issue. Pulls really hard with very noticeable increase in power in low and mid RPM.

Great performance on the street and autox. Performance diminishes during track duty due to heat soak. The liquid intercooler was designed to reduce intake heat. I just couldn't see adding liquid to an aircooled car.

I have a TPC kit fitted to my 993. I built my own intercooler set up basically using the TPC route apart from i have 2 radiators instead of just the one. Before the intercooler i was making 342hp and 320lb of torque. (Not tuned)The low down torque is awesome but the downside is the boost drop off at 5k rpm and above.
The engine boosts 5.8 psi at 4k rpm and drops to 4psi above 5k rpm. (This is due to the roots style blower) My problem here in the UK is trying to get someone to tune the car with the UNI Q software. The current dealer can't tune it because of the high temps produced it just heat soaks the whole area. The car feels it wants to give more HP. So not sure what increase the intercooler has made, just gotta know that the engine will be healthier with it fitted due to lower intake temps.

TPC kit is $11.5k with i/c. Factor in install (required for TPC) and they're the same price. I installed the Proto kit myself, and it wasn't bad at all. My detailed comparison of TPC and Protomotive is here:
