Generation 993 - Great article

The 993 is the best looking aircooled 911 IMHO. Not to say the turbo 80's models were not cool as well.
I have read where the 993 was a "gap" car to fill the time before the 996. But, with all the thought that went into making it the best of the line of aircooled cars, and the sales that were so good, I wonder if Porsche originally only wanted 4-5 yrs production or wished to push back the 996 after such great reviews?

Most of the guys I hang out with have nice 996TT's, 997's, 996's, 997TT's, GT3's etc.. no matter what I always get the "that is still the best looking one they ever made" I would have to say I have always felt that way since they came out.
Then I get the, "do you miss the 996TT?" - I always answer no but sometimes find it hard to explain, you have to own one to get it I guess.
