Default Some pics of a friend's Turbo

Hi,

The afternoon was quite boring so we decided to take some pics. My friend has got a gorgeous Arena Red 993 Turbo.

Nice! How does he like the Lobster wheels? Did he have to do any modifications to the fenders? Any spacers needed?

looks great. most 19" wheels look too big on 993s but i like the looks of the lobster claws.

He's got adapters to make up for the high offset of the wheels (offsets for a Narrow body 911 and late 944's). No modification to the fenders, just added camber to tuck. The wheels are 19x8.5 fronts I think and 19x11 or 19x11.5's in the rear. They're OEM Lobsters, not replicas.

I think the car pulls off the lobsters really well because it's got a pretty slammed stance - looks lower in person than it does in these pictures.

I agree that 19's are usually too big for 993's, but like most of you, I was also surprised how this car seems to pull it off. I've seen 993's with 19" mesh style wheels and it just overpowers the car. I think the open spoke design of the lobsters help with that. I'm also a big fan of large lips on the rear wheels, and I'm surprised I like how this car looks without any lip.

Thanks for the info.... Porsche has some pretty cool wheel designs. I agree on the large lips. What's cool about the design is when the wheel is spinning you can actually see a lip so the wheel isn't totally flat faced like the Turbo twist wheel. That's why I like the MY02 5 spokes or the GT3 wheels.

At the moment he has 275-30's. They're too narrow for the wheel and is looking to replace them with 315-25's.
