CD Changer skips over bumps

The roads are not THAT bad in Alringotn, VA, but with my ROW M030/Bilstein suspension, the car is a BIT firm. And the CDs don't always play thorugh when going over a bumpin the road. The CD changer is used, I should add.
Some part numbers in the DIY for mounting the changer are
Mounting bolt part number 900 075 440 07 X 4
Washer part number 900 151 006 02 x 4
Question: do these OEM bolts or washers have a sort of rubber buffer, or are they just plain metal? Has anyone else experienced this problem? Or suggest a fix (e.g. rubber washers)? It does not occur when the dash-mounted CD is playing.
The car sure handles well, however.

I just removed a factory / dealer OEM installed changer and there were no rubber washers present.
My guess is that given the positioning of the changer, skipping will most likely occur.
I'm actually surprised that the deck CD player doesn't skip occasionally as well.

my Sony factory unit now skips when I hit some ugly road patches. The M030 w/ Bilsteins swallow them up just fine, but not so the cd player. I would not trade current handling for un-interupted listening pleasure.

I have seen no external cushion or rubber washers on mine. The shock absorbers are inside the unit. I rarely experience skipping with mine but it does happen. I have H&R Springs with Bilstein HD shocks.
About a year ago I noticed increased skipping and actually found the CD changer mounts had worked loose a bit. I tightened them up and the skipping went away. So if anything, it appears the chassis mount must be very secure to allow the inside shock absorbers to do their job.
If that doesn't work, turn the volume down, roll the windows down, and put the pedal down!

Charlie,
Mine skipped constantly when I bought the car in 2002. The dealer had added the 6CD changer, so it is a factory setup completely. It was worse with the Bilstein and ROW springs.
I wasn't buying the "they all do that" story. I called the radio service center in NJ (?) and they told me to pull the changer and check the positioning of some external set screws. They said the changer can be installed vertically or horiz and the internal suspension has to be set to the correct position to avoid or minimize skipping. I checked my changer and it was set up for horiz mounting.
I changed the screws (I thing they had to be turned 180 degrees) and problem solved.
Sorry I can't recall all the details.

I like the music of my exhaust note better than what comes out of my stereo so mine is usually off but when it's on, the CD does skip in the big bumps.
Next addition will be a new head unit with an Ipod controller and the delete of the CD changer.....................ZP44
