Time to formally introduce myself... (long-ish, BWW)
Well, I've lurked on Rennlist for years, and finally got my first Porsche this spring. It's a 1997 Arctic Silver Targa, which I bought in January, and it was delivered on Groundhog Day. Here is a link with the delivery pics from the Audiworld forum (used to be the main Audi forum, now mostly replaced by Quattroworld):

They changed the view format there a while ago, makes it hard to follow the thread now unfortunately, but you can see the pics.
I then had to contain my excitement for the next few months until the snow was gone, and I've been ecstatic ever since! Like many of you, this is a car I've wanted for years, and it has not disappointed. I knew exactly what I had wanted, and was just waiting for the right one to come along. I bought the car from Weissach in Vancouver, and can't say enough about how great they were to deal with. It was sold by Beverly Hills Porsche in Nov 1996, and was serviced there for the next 10 years. It was then brought to Canada by Weissach, who have serviced it since, and they then took it back in on trade. I don't suppose the original owner is a Rennlister?? Anyone recognize their car? If so, thanks for taking such great care of it!!
It had 33,000 miles on it when I bought it. Factory options included cruise, stereo upgrade/CD, comfort seats x 2, and the x70 carbon fiber package (steering wheel, shifter, handbrake). I had the headlights converted to Litronic at the dealer before I took delivery. Weissach converted it to the M033 springs when they imported it three years ago. It came with the 17" Cups you see in the link above, and I purchased some MY02s from Rennlister SpeedYellow993, who was great to deal with, and they arrived quickly, and as promised. I also bought some clear corners off eBay, and stupidly didn't realize that they weren't for cars with bumperettes . . . ugh. Anyone want those??
I thought I was loving the car, and then I went to my first PCA DE 10 days ago, and realized how much more I loved it then! I had been on that track once previously with my Audi TT, and this was a totally different experience, for sure, and I think I grinned for the next three days . . . Marc Shaw, one of the 964 moderators, is a friend of mine, and it was great to get to go with him, as he has tons of experience with these cars, and has been extremely helpful (patient) with my questions.
I've been wanting to make an intro post for a while, but I didn't have good pics of my own until this week. I was off last week, and got the car nicely cleaned up after the day at the track, so enough talking, here's the mandatory pics . . . sorry I was too lazy to get out of the driveway and go somewhere scenic...
Oh, I'm in Red Deer, Alberta, Canada (halfway between Calgary and Edmonton). I'd love to get together with any other Albertans for a cruise, seems there are quite a few on here!
I hope that's not too many pics, but I know how much you guys like your pics! Thanks for reading,
matt

Welcome aboard Matt! Great car you've got there, I've seen it up close and personal on several occasions. Might have even sat in it. Weissach really sells nice cars and the people sure treat their customers right.
The MY02s work great on it. And what a great introduction with lots of good pics!
