The only gf of mine to drive my baby was trained on the track by Bonderant. Her dad apparently had hired him as a driver years ago. Her father also is a P-car collector so she was no stranger to 911s. A very sexy blonde with Italian heritage. Suffice it to say she knew how to handle a stick
. It was actually fun letting her take the wheel. She drove us from our home in Santa Barbara down to San Diego and took the wheel for the ride home. Never a moment of concern.

Hell yes, let her drive. I'll give anyone one chance to drive my car, more if they don't break it on the first run. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
My wife liked my old Boxster, everything about it except the manual. So we got her one with a tip! She even does DE days with me. One can see why I'm in love.

Looks like the majority are in the YES column, and she thanks you for all your support. She's looking forward to her drive this weekend. I'll post an update afterwards!

She finally got her chance last Friday, and of course I had to capture it on film. We were heading out to meet some friends, on a very nice night.
Of course she said YES when I offered her the seat. You might be able to notice a smile or two from her...
She only stalled it once, to her credit, which she blames on the wedge shoes she was wearing. Other than that she did really well, though it took her a bit to get used to how the clutch engaged on the car, like most people when they drive a different car.
Now she wants to know when she can BORROW it for the day... sheesh, you might see another post coming up soon with that question!!!!!

The best move you can make is to have her drive the car a lot and get excited about it. Let her autocross it, etc. The more the better. As she gets excited and interested, it becomes an activity you can share. It will eliminate future problems based on your spending money on the car, spending too much time with the car or too many car shows etc. etc.
My wife's interest in cars matches mine, she drives well, runs on the track, loves to mod the cars and is always in favor of another new ride. The only complaint I have heard about spending money on a car is why I didn't spend more to do the track mod to her MINI also. I think I am the envy of a lot of guys at track days, and feel I am as lucky as they get. Judging from the smile on your girlfriend's face, you might be able to end up the same way.
Photos to make my point.

David, while she's not as interested in cars as your lovely lady, she has warmed up to helping me in the garage. Including messy things like oil changes. And she's had fun doing it, so maybe there is hope for her after all.
I told her I'd love to get her on an autocross course, and if she's up for it taking the wheel.
