Thanks for all the replies, and I agree with all the comments. Yes, she will drive it, likely tomorrow. If we have any serious accidents I'll post the pics. And I'll post pics anyway, with her behind the wheel. You will also see me in the pics, I'll be the one in a crash helmet, lol.

OK, she asked that I retract that last statement... she is a good driver, so I wasn't supposed to be so mean!

When I had my last NSX I let my fiancee drive it. I was really uncomfortable as she wasn't paying attention to potholes or curbs (almost curbed the rear wheel). Admittedly she was nervous too but in reality its just a car.

She'll drive my Porsche when I get it...

I let wifey drive anytime she wants (pic below from the 2009 CO Porsche Parade)

I also let her drive my '78 SC coupe when she was my girlfriend.

Worked out for me

Do you let your other friends drive your car? If so, the answer to your question should be an easy "yes", unless she's a terrible driver.

Ask her to practice on your gear shift first

I have a sparco evo seat bolted in place, no slider for someone around 6.' Problem solved. Girl friend is around 5'5."
Seriously though, I did let her drive it once and just put some pillows in the seat so she could reach the peddles. I think this was a good move, she loves the car, and is happy just riding with me. She even likes the supercups!

Of course she should drive it! It's just a car after all!!!

I'm surprised that we have this discussion, actually.

As far as I am aware, men are far more prone to have accidents than women.

So, if all this "should she drive it?" worrying was rally anything else than mild mannered male chauvinism, we should be more worried when we hit the road ourselves.

For the record, my mum (74 years) drives mine occasionally. But she liked the 964 more...

What could happen, she doesn't really like driving it and when you go out together you drive.
She LOVES driving it and you get to find her one in Guards Red...

Seriously, my wife drives our 993 all the time. Her only complaint is that it is she has more fun on the track.

No. You can get another girlfriend. You car is a rare one-of-a-kind.
I joke around all the time. But not on this subject. Too much downside risk, to the car and to your relationship. Use the big head to make the decision here, not the little head.
When I die, somebody else can get behind the wheel of my car. Not until then.

I had to talk my wife into driving mine, and she hated it. Sits too low, draws too much attention, yada, yada. So I gave it a shot.

I'd let her drive it. I let friends drive mine if they want with me in the car.. most don't want to go near it.
