I know they are sometimes hard to find local to folks in the US, but our Barnes and Noble typically has a few copies. If anyone can't find one, I don't mind swinging by and picking it up/shipping.

The Brit mags are pricey. But I usually get Total 911.

Also, the current Excellence has a great article on a 700 mile 911 T (at least, I think it's a T).

I picked up all the latest British car mags when I was in London a 2 weeks ago. They are expensive, but the quality of the articles is much better than anything here with the exception of Excellence. I am a month ahead now because it takes that long for the issues to arrive here...........

Hi guys

Glad to see that you're enjoying the new Total 911, and amused to see that JD is using my 'Not a TT' panel in his signature. Spread the word! ;-)

Cheers

$75 is a bargain compared to EVO, another interesting UK publication. the UK roadie cycling mags are $95+.

ahhhhhh but the production values, graphics and images in Total 911 are well worth it IMO.

Thanks for printing my letter and the images of my Carrera. Seeing this thread put a smile on my face.

Below is the letter from Max Flinkenberg that Total 911 printed, issue # 46.
"Can you let MB know that he’s not the only one out there that thinks the 993 is overrated (Aug 2008).
Admittedly, the back end is pretty but that front end design leaves a lot to be desired. It looks like a cat in a force 10 wind-tunnel. Overall it makes the car look stubby and un-aggressive (GT2 and front spoiler 993s not included).
The loss of the “pistol” profile was a shame. It’s the 993s fault that modern Porsche’s lost the raised headlamps and it’s all gone a bit Pete Tong from there. And don’t say it’s in the name of aerodynamics, as the CTR is good for 214 mph. I relish the fact that the 996 was a lighter car as it showed the how overweight the last of the air cooled cars had become.
What I’d like to add is, who in their right mind would opt for a grey interior in the interior of their Porsche? I can imagine the customer in the showroom, I think I’ll go for a leather interior… hmmm. Decisions…yes, definitely math-teacher shoes in grey. Simply hideous and the absolute bane of 1990’s Porsches.

_________________________________________________________________

There was a LOT i wanted to say in my response, but i limited myself to, " Regarding M Flinkenberg’s thought provoking note in issue #46, I must agree that from the front view, a 993 is not terribly special, but after that, he’s lost me.
My 993 is the most “special” car I’ve owned, including a long line of MOPAR muscle cars, an 06 Cayman S and our current 09 C2S.
The look of the rear ¾ view of the bumptious hips more than make up for the front view. The nimble handling, the stunning braking and the glorious noise…… I’ll desist, I’m preaching to the converted. Normally I’d stop there and wish MF a good day and C’est la vie, but this is a mag about a German marque so I can’t resist including this photo of my 96 C4S’s most appealing Classic Grey interior bits and wishing him a bit of shadenfreude instead.

Cheers
