Yes, although really more like the OC version of Topanga Canyon, i.e. good fun when it is empty, but usually overrun with people commuting from one end to the other. Even more so than Malibu, to enjoy the Ortega you need to do it during the week, and outside of commuting hours.

I'm game for just about anything on Saturday morning - I can't do Sunday.

I'd be fine with a longer "commute" to the area in trade for less traffic. I'm more concerned with traffic than cops anyway since I save the "***** out" for the track and prefer to keep to a "brisk pace" on public roads.

 

FWIW, 6/28 is also Village Coffee Roaster Euro Sunday. Could be a cool "brisk" drive over the mountains, hit the meet then freeway back.

 

Today I went up some of my usual runs and also decided to do Piuma, since I haven't been up there for a while.

It's starting to get warmer, the beaches are getting crowded, and the bicyclists are coming out in full swing. The traffic on the lower PCH was pretty heavy. I stopped to get a sandwich at Hows and the place was packed. It's summer. Blah.

The car enjoyed the exercise but now it's hibernating for the summer. See you guys back in November.

Definitely going to the VCR thing on Sunday. Gonzilla is meeting with other friends of mine in Manhattan Beach early to go up the coast and over the mountain. Let me know if anyone else wants to link up at some point or meet us at the Village Coffee Roaster.

I'm thinking of doing my same trip as last year, coming down for ALMS at Laguna Seca, then down to LA. Would love to get a canyon drive in (Rock Store)with some of you. And of course, still take in some brews in Redondo.

I must say that after reading this thread, I am SO glad I moved out of there.
