Default Supercar Sunday drive to Village Coffee Roaster June 28

I'd like to meet up to drive on 6/27 at around 7:00 a.m. Is anyone interested?

Maybe Coffee Bean in Marina Del Rey (right off the 90)
13420 Maxella Ave, Ste C20, Marina del Rey, CA 90292

Chuck, please count me in for the next one, but tomorrow I have a wedding to go to. Would love to do this drive with you and some other RL'ers sometime, though.

Have a blast!

I would love to but this weekend is not good for me either. How about a raincheck for June 27th?

Will this work for anyone else? If we time it right, we could end up back at the SaMo airport at the PCA breakfast at 9:15 with (gasp!)...slightly dirty cars! Or not. Would 7:00 be too early for Coffee Bean?

Looks like I'll be working on my house and doing some work-related stuff tomorrow.

I'm kinda up for it. I haven't put the car away as planned yet. I did a run to Ojai today in it (work related); some great roads up there!!

Are you still plan on heading out? How about meeting at the Coffee Bean in Malibu instead of the Marina?

Chuck,
I went up there yesterday and it definitely seems that hunting season is on. No less than four patrol cars on the side of the road in various spots along Mulholland on either side of the Rock Store (two of them shooting laser) and another on Las Virgenes between Piuma and Mulholland. When you go, keep your eyes open in the more well travelled areas.

That's partly why I drive the area (I live nearby, too) early morning weekdays. Less traffic, less cops. Sunday very, very early is better too.

Signing up with Trapster and running it on your cell phone is helpful. The PCH/Malibu/SM Mtns area is covered well on Trapster.

Thanks for the tip. Unlike many, I don't want to drive because it's summer. In fact, I'd rather avoid the relative heat and definite crowds. It's more a function of not having been up there since January and wanting to drive anywhere right now. I've changed the date to Sunday and the meet time to 7:00 a.m. Does that work better for more people?

If someone would like to post separate thread about a "secret spot" tour that's less than and hour from LAX, I'm game for that as well.

Uhhh, Chuck, "post" and "secret spot" are mutually exclusive...I don't see THAT happening.

How is Angeles Crest? (Hwy 2)? I used to go up that way with Sylvia in the 80s, it was mostly over run with cafe racers then...

Angeles Crest is over run. Unless you go towards the very end near Palmdale.

Santa Clarita Valley has some excellent 'secret spots' I know the spots and the area pretty well. It would be more like 1-1/2 hours from LAX, however. A real full day sort of thing.

The other good place is Santa Paula to Ojai and then the area in the mountains paralleling the 101 to SB. Again, a full day.

I would expect that any details would be divulged offline and only to those who raise their hands...

For example, I haven't done the Ortega in a while, but I expect that's the OC version of the "cops and crazies" of Mulholland...
