Ask her how much money she is willing to loose on the car to sell it. It's tough if you loose $10k plus on it. Then if you get another one, you will not be happy with it.
I think the real question is what does she want? Why is the car such a big deal? Why does your happiness not mean anything?

Maybe mention that rock on her finger as another example of a high expenditure you didn't have to make and maybe you should trade that in, too.

The psychological trauma caused from the loss of your beloved toy can and will cause permanent impotence and possibly manifest itself to a gender change syndrome later in life. Surgery is very costly and far outweighs the small $300/payment for keeping your car. I say let her drive it and maybe she'll have a change of heart when she feels the joy! Either way, good luck.

This isn't about a car. It's about your marriage.
If you're in financial trouble, then she may be right that it's time to sell, even at a loss. But if you're not, and this is just a power play on her part -- all you'd do by getting rid of your car is show her that she can get whatever she wants by pressuring you. If this isn't a financial matter, you'll be solving nothing by selling the car other than setting up the next big confrontation.

Sorry. Not enough details for any of us to weigh in on this little train wreck. But....If you are trying to be tough and lay down any money laws in your house, yet have a precious unused garage queen sitting in your drive (and weakening your position), you know what to do.
