Great idea & info here. I'm all about keeping others from merging with my paint.

Important pre-modification step for those with pre-owned Porsches: have someone else activate your brake lights for you / take a photo, etc.

You may be as thrilled as I was to realize I owe the previous owner big thanks for already doing this mod!

I'm planning on doing this mod soon. Based on the input here I'm confused whether the brake light harness is already there, or if I need to procure one?

Jeff,

The wiring harness is there for the existing lights, but you'll have to tap into those wires to connect the new bulb sockets. Hope that helps.

Does anyone have a photo of the wiring harness mod?

Here are the differences between the original ROW center reflector where all the sockets are used (993 631 130 00 ECE) and the US version with the plugs (993 631 140 00 USA).

I have a new ROW version with factory wiring for sale but it has a chip missing from one corner. Also, the ROW version that I have does not have the small extensions on the ends that help fill the gaps between the center reflector and the rear side markers. They may be missing from the factory or somehow they broke off. I'm not sure at this point.

I also have a used USA version that leaks (replaced with a new one) if somebody wants it for parts or a cheap track part where you don't care if there is some condensation in it after it gets wet.

Retail price on these is around $400. I'd take a fraction of that considering the condition (chip'd euro or leaky US), but something fair.

Blaine, thanks for the excellent photos of the ROW and USA center reflector versions.

Can the US version be used if the plugs are removed and new bulb sockets are inserted like the ROW center reflector where all the sockets are used?

(I assume I can tap into the existing USA wiring harness and add the sockets)

I think you would have to tap into the wiring connector (violet colored in the pic) on the US reflector to add the additional bulb sockets. If you wanted to use donor parts from a second US version you could probably do it.

You can see in the pics of the ROW version how all four bulb sockets are wired into the single connector.

Based on the pics, the harness for the extra lights isn't there. Can't wait to pop it open tonight and check.

Nope, no wires, so I'll be off fabricating the harness and acquiring some bulb sockets.
