The third brake light quit working 8 years ago, and I did the wiring fix on p-car.com. So it might be a factor, but it's not a direct cause, unless there was some residual damage.

Hopefully they fixed that issue on the new glass that arrived. And it did arrive safely. It's scheduled to be installed in a few weeks when I return from vacation.

So sorry to hear about this broken rear window. Could a rapid change in barometric pressure have something to do with this... I heard of one incident in New Zealand, where fighter jets came over some parked cars at an airshow... those cars with the windows closed had broken windows!

Just some thought to add!

Cheers,

B.L.

Yeah - I've seen this happen to glass before. The whole window just shattered - everyone just had the WTF look on their face.

RS glass replacement ???

I didn't even think of RS glass! That's ok though, since I want the defrost.

Plus, I don't know anything about RS glass... like is it even glass? Or Plexiglass?

Hi Jeff,

I just read your post and I can sympathise.

If you want answers, have a look at these old posts of mine.

You may say I have had some experience with this issue. I am glad to say that it seems to be resolved.

Good luck, and let us know how you go.

NOW FIXED!!!!

Took 3 weeks for the glass to arrive, then I was out of town for a few weeks on vacation.

Returned home late last Wednesday, and dropped it off at the installers on Thursday. They wanted to have the car for at least 48 hours to make sure it set up properly. I was OK with them taking all the time they needed.

Picked it up Saturday morning, reinstalled the interior today.

I'm back on the road again!

And if anyone ever needs the install templates, let me know. I ordered a set for the installers to use, now they're just going to sit here gathering dust.

Alan, holy cow, I hope I don't have anything like your experiences. Ouch!
