I had to get my Ca Smog certificate the other day. Clean as a whistle with readings far below the minimum acceptable ppms. It got me thinking:
My 95 is now pushing 15 yrs old, has now around 122K miles, been tracked avidly, been a daily driver since 50K miles, has never left me stranded or even surprised me with an unexpected mechanical issue, got its first new clutch replacement at a whopping 118K miles, consumes 1 qt every 2500 or so miles, and continues to commute with a daily dance to redline and hurling into turns. The entire car feels as tight, solid, and eager to rev as the day I got her. Bottom line: these cars are incredible. Is there such a beast that can deliver such over-arching performance across the board? Enjoy your 993, folks, in the best of health!

I had a similar revelation the other day when a friend asked me about the reliability of my car. It occurred to me that it was as reliable as any car I've ever owned, and more reliable than most of them.

I also have a '95 with 120,000 miles. I purchased it with 12000 miles in 1999. The car has been tracked at least one DE per year for the last 7 years. Still original clutch. It also has never left me stranded. Even after a deer took out my front end and windshield, I was still able to drive home.
Edward, I agree with you, these are AMAZING cars.

Congrats on passing! I got to get mine done this month.
With 90kmi, I'm not worried about it at all. Really, I hate most of the others who think that these cars are done over 50kmi. It has been the most reliable car I have owned, & one of the most fun to drive.
My biggest complaint, is the lack of storage. It's the only car I've had that can't fit a set of tires in. Well at lest with wheels on them.

I will say that my BMW E46 has been pretty amazing too, although with (obviously) less track capability. 9 years and 135k miles. The car feels as tight as the day I bought it, with nary a rattle. Germans rock.
