Anybody have experiences with Junipero Serra Porsche? in Daly City?
They are EZ for us folks who live on the West Side of SF to get to (as opposed to The Stable, which is a 30min drive cross town).
I'm genuinely interested in what others think of JSP --- I've used them several times for routine maintenance / plugs / pressing out front control arm bushings / etc. and have been quite pleased with them, but have never had them do major work like engine-out type stuff...
Thanks.

Had the work been as meticulous and thorough as I had heard I may still be using them. One bit of bragging that the owner did when I dropped off my car was to tell me how good they are to the extent that he loved my car more than I do. Not sure how he could draw that conclusion. This was my own experience and I am sure that others have fared much better, but they are far from the only game in town so I choose to let what I feel is a more responsible mechanic work on my car when the need arises.

I've been known to mass commute all the way back from RMG via cal train and last oil change I took bart to Pittsburg/Bay Point then a Tri-Delta bus to Brentwood to get my car from Darin at FD Motorsport. I highly recommend him too.

That's dedication. FDM are great but a little remote from the Peninsula for an oil change IMHO. I've used FDM (like) RMG (like) and Rector (like, but I have a good long relationship with my SA and it was years before I'd let them touch the 993).

+1 for the Stable in SF
Also I've had good experience with Flintworks in Campbell. It's a small shop and Alden, the owner, is a Porsche trained tech that formerly worked as a tech at a dealer. I've only had him work on my 986 Boxster though, so hard to say about air-cooled knowledge.

I had Mark at Ken's Sportech in Campbell (408) 377 8055 replace the evaporator on my 993. He did a good job and his price was almost half of what others wanted. I found Mark to be very honest and knowledgeable.
If you are looking for a real low priced but excellent Porsche factory trained mechanic, I highly recommend Josh in Petaluma (480) 287-3517. Josh works out of his home on weekends only. He did full 60K service plus all fluids on my car and I was very happy with his work. And you can't beat his price.

Apologies for resurrecting an older thread. RMG has been servicing a turbo I'm looking at purchasing. Should I still try them for ppi or someone unbiased like rennshop or heyer? Located in Los Altos. Thanks
