Default Researching Flamenco Red Interior'd 993s

Hello all,

New here. Great forum you have here. I've been looking into 993s for the past few years as a reasonable dream car. Its timeless looks and Porsche pedigree stole my heart. I plan to pick one up either once I get into or out of dental school. I'm perhaps considering picking up a 968 in the meantime to replace my dull '00 4-cyl. Accord.

Recently, I ran across a classified ad that had a 993 with the Flamenco Red interior. I've been hooked ever since.

So far I've found '95s and '96s w/ white and silver exteriors in C2, C4 cab, C4S, and TT models. Also, some are full Flamenco Red, while others are two-toned with black.

Personally I want a white C4S w/ two-tone FR/black.

I was wondering if anyone knows which years/models had this stunning $4000 option, and with which exterior colors?

Any information would be fantastic.

Thanks for your help!

Since you mentioned 968's you may want to know it was a $4,190 option available for 94 and 95 model years-all Flamenco Red, or Flamenco Red/Black. 968TurboS here owns a full Flamenco Red interior car.

His car is Alpine White.

Default Flamenco Red 1995 993

There was a 1995 993 coupe local to me which was a special order car. Had arctic silver paint with flamenco red interior. I think I have the window sticker for it. When it was ordered and the deposit was placed, the selling dealer specified that the buyer was required to buy it and the deposit was non-refundable.

The std red interior for '95 was Chestnut. I can't say whether this was a std color for '96 and beyond.

My car has the optional flamenco red/black interior. The only changes I've made are black Lloyds matts (replacing the original red) and a black MY02 3 spoke steering wheel replaceing the black 4 spoke wheel. The star in the car is my granddaughter Jocy.

I have the Orig. factory hardbound 993 intro brocuhure and the color combo shown extensively is Polar Silver/ Flamenco Red. If I remember correctly that was one of the "Launch" Color combos for the US 993. I do not ever remember seeing a '96 or newer with this color that was not a special order. To the best of my knowledge '95-'96 were the only years available. Chestnut was also available but is really much more onangey brown thats kind of dull the photo on this thread would appear otherwise, but trust me its not red in any way. Chestnut only looked good on White colored cars I thought. From '97 up they went to "Boxster Red" to which Chestnut is much closer to in reality which is much more washed out and was the orig. Boxster interior "Launch" color. I personally love Flamenco Red and can remember a non-sunroof '96 or '97 Turbo that was specially ordered here locally with Titanuim paint (Audi) to sample, it was absolutely STUNNING. I wonder what ever happened to that car.

Good to know! Thanks to everyone for the collective information so far.

This amazing interior is pretty rare! If anyone has anything to add, please do. Production numbers would be fantastic.

Seems like the consensus is that white w/ red is a lot harder to find than silver w/ red and that overall it's found across the model range in only '95 and '96 993s.

If anyone has a Grand Prix White on Flamenco Red/black for sale in the future (any model), let me know! I won't be in the market for a few years though, so future sellers if you see this in like 2010 or 2011, contact me! Hahaha.

That's an awesome color for an interior. There was a white 993TT with Flamenco Red interior for sale here in Hong Kong...I was really tempted to buy it but the wife vetoed the color.

I looked for a polar/flamenco (or can-can, or lobster, or lipstick) car for a long time before I got mine and never found one. I've seen a turbo and a C2S for sale in the past three years in that combo, but no others. Good luck with the search though.
