Default another great system by Rod Birch

just wanted to add my voice to the chorus of Rod Birch fans. He and his team at Car Audio Innovations performed a very nice upgrade to my old factory system on Friday. We went with a Kenwood 4-channel 500 w amp to replace the Nokia boat anchor amp and a Hertz Mille speaker set with crossovers for the doors.

I had the hi-fi option, so the speaker install included keeping the speaker door panels for a clean, factory-looking finish. Out went the old 5", 3" and tweeter nokia speakers. The cross-overs were neatly tucked into the door panel enclosure.

The system, driven by a CDR-220, sounds lively and crisp. Bass response is very good and the mids are clean.

Rod's team is customer focused and friendly. Rod will even give you a loaner car while you wait. No affiliation other than another satisfied customer.

You kept the CDR-220 and the original speaker grills? That sounds perfect. Someday ...

I sold my 86 911 about 6 years ago. I miss the stero that I purchased from Rod just about as much as I miss the car.

Ditto! Only mine was an `87 Cab, flew Rod out to conduct the installation. Grea guy with excellent work ethic.

Anybody in SoCal planning someday to do a "Rod install?" I'd like to get him to do another road trip down here. Not sure how many he needs to have lined up to make it worth his time.....

Although a road trip up there could be fun.

yep...I kept the old nokia speaker enclosure unit as sovenirs in case a future buyer wants to return the car back to stock....otherwise they adorn my attic which already includes the engine tray, old floor mats, shifter *****, etc.

Thanks, Joe!

Do you know the amp model numner and/or dimensions?

My Soundstrem doesn't fit length-vise, so I'm trying to figure out what I want to do.
