Did the 95 993 come w/ a factory alarm remote that is separate from the car keys? As I only have keys to lock/un-lock the doors.

Late-build '95's (say from March 95 on) have the immobilizer system with keyless entry. If your car originally came with the "basket handle" third brake light, then you don't have the immobilizer system and can only lock/unlock the car with a key, unless you install an aftermarket keyless system.

My early '95 didn't. Mine didn't have the immobilizer or the remote for door lock. I think it may have been a option in '95 and then standard in '96 on.

My early 95 (12/94) build does not have a remote/immobilizer. Does anyone recommend a good aftermarket alarm with an ignition block?

Keyless is pretty cool. Up 'till now, I was thinking Immobilzer was completely without benefits.

Don't '95s have some sort of security system that's activated by turning the key?

There are several of us with 95s who have adapted keyless entry without the diabolical immobilizer system. Not too difficult with a wiring diagram.

Yep.

They have a rudimentary alarm that is triggered by someone opening the door from the inside without the key. I don't know if motion will set it off- my 95 alarm never went off accidentally.

Not true at all, mine came w/ basket handle and RKE w/ immobilizer

M529 is the option code used for the US market 315mHz immobilizer

My early '95 had no driveblock or keyless entry. I find it hard to believe that in 1995 you could spend 70 grand on a Porshe and have to put the key in the lock and turn it (crazy ).

I added a keyless remote system (no alarm) to lock/unlock my doors and activate the factory alarm system. There are a couple write-ups about the install (not dificult at all) cost me $41 from JC Whitney.

Just bought a '95 and it included EVERYTHING but the window sticker. No remotes whatsoever, just 2 big keys and a smaller one. It was built in 6/94.
