Is it Vesuvius or Vesuvio? I've seen it listed both ways. In any case - it's a pretty interesting color since it has that purple undertone in bright sunlight but then turns black as evening arrives. Note the gray secondary coloring was part of this color option - mirrors, rear grille, gauge rings, etc. Enjoy!!

Pretty much. Few guys had the ***** to take a flyer on these wonderful colors. ESPECIALLY here in the liberal-but-I'm-so-conservative-on-color Bay Area where it's silver........black...........silver..........silver.............silver. ..............silver........black. Etc.

I'm just glad someone in So Cal ponied up for the Chestnut Brown interior on the car I ended up with!

The color had a very dark tint with a mix of dark metallic gray. It looked like black in low color conditions, and a very very deep and dark purple in broad daylight. It is, imho of course, a beautiful color and one you don't see often.

The name of the color, as listed in the brochure, is Vesuvius Metallic

If I ever get the chance to order a new 911, it will be in that color.

delanobe...I would have to disagree...nothing "standard' about your car. Absolutely gorgeous car!
Nice shots.

Well the results speak for themselves, that's one of the nicest 993's I've seen. from other threads I've read it seems Vesuvius was more common in Europe than in North America. I know they exist on this side of the pond, but its rare to see them. Definitely one of my favorite 993 colours...and I think yours represents this shade better than I've ever seen. Really like the subtle accents of the silver in some places...is that factory? or something you've done after the fact.

Would love to see more pics if you have them. Well done on a beautiful car!

Is this your car? If so, can you share a few interior shots? First one I have seen with an interior color other than gray or black.

The car in the brochure had burgundy interior... a beautiful combination.

Mine was gray... the gray interior did have this purple tint that made it look different. wow... a walk down memory lane...
