Now THERE's an oxymoron...

On subject...all my casual shoes are loafer/slip-on types, and I never wear socks, so I always take my shoes off when I'm driving. I love the feel of the pedals and he carpet...

I do it all the time, more so if I'm just going for a drive and don't intend to get out of the car.

I grew up by the beach, so I learned to drive barefoot.

I guess this is a good thread to say... I am enjoying the images in your sig JD Keep up the good work.

Back on topic, I guess I need some barefoot friendly aluminum pedals. Maybe the ones with those little rubber nubbins?

I have never tried the barefoot experience. I will now though. Heck I never even thought of it before, and I'm from Kentucky where we are barefoot 24/7.

while we are here...

There's this guy in our area here by the Cal. Delta... ALWAYS barefoot.
rides a Harley, barefoot
restaurants, barefoot
spring, summer, winter, fall
tough feet.

Only thing he wears footwear for is his job. Concrete work. Cement is caustic.
But he doesn't wear socks.

I did that last year in Portugal beach hopping in a rental car. The sandals kept getting caught and felt unsafe so took them off and drove bare feet. Surprisingly easy to adapt to. I would prefer to drive with shoes with thin soles normally but couldn't be bothered taking my shoes to the beach as well as the sandals.

I don't drive bare-footed, but I use really thin-soled driving moccasins. Love those.

You get a lot more feedback through the pedals, especially if you drive bare-feet. My daughter drives bare-feet all the time. But she does not have alum pedal set in her car.
