want to lower....
i want to lower my suspension...do i turn the ring on the shock clockwise or counterclockwise?? should the ring go up or down??

The ring should go do down to lower it. How many turns depends on the thread spacing on the shocks.
Also, if you adjust the rings up or down from were they are now, you'd need to get your car re-aligned.

i was looking at it now....if the ring goes down doesnt that mean that the springs are extending therefore making the suspension go higher?im probably wrong.after looking at it i thought i have to make the ring go up to compress the springs to make the car lower.please correct me if im wrong...i have the wheels off.

Yes, down is lower. Rears will have to be taken apart somewhat to turn the sway bar drop link mount. You can do this by taking out the lower control arm and removing the bolt that is through the bottom of the shock. That should give you enough room to move the shock around while rotating the sway bar drop link mount.
I believe, according to Jeff's DIY on the HD install, 1mm on the shock = 2mm fender height but don't hold me to it!
